Description:
The Construction Labourer plays a key role in supporting our carpenters and project teams on residential and commercial construction projects. This position is responsible for site preparation, material handling, general labour, and assisting with day-to-day construction activities to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to MCC's quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous construction or labour experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take directions from supervisors and experienced tradespeople.
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and reliable attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist carpenters and tradespeople with daily construction activities.
- Prepare and maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment as required.
- Perform demolition, site preparation, and general labour tasks.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Support framing, finishing, and other construction activities under the direction of experienced team members.
- Follow project instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Help maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Identify and report safety concerns or job site issues.
- Represent MCC with professionalism and a positive attitude on every job site.
