Description:
The Role Reporting to the Construction Project Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in the development of capital projects, including, but not limited to, minor renovations, expansions, equipment upgrades, and space planning.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to, ASME consultants, contractors, clinic teams, loss prevention, and IT, to define project scope and develop existing and proposed floor plans that align with clinical needs and business case budgets
- Conduct site visits, as required, to assess existing conditions, validate the proposed design, and/or facilitate on-site meetings with consultants
- Facilitate meetings with internal teams to gather input on space planning, finishes, and functional requirements
- Periodically meet with suppliers and vendors to review and update finish selections and specifications based on product availability, budget, and quality standards
- Assist in the preparation and creation of internal design concepts, templates, floorplans, renderings, and SOPs
- Maintain organized records and documentation related to all design elements and specifications
- Support the Project Manager with RFI’s, shop drawing reviews, participating in active project meetings, recording meeting minutes, and distributed related documentation
- Work with suppliers and vendors to maintain and update finish selections and develop detailed material and finish packages tailored to each project
- Finalize the procurement of furniture, fixtures, and medical equipment with clinic teams and manage the vendors, pricing, and deliveries from initiation to project completion
- Perform administrative functions and other duties as assigned to support the broader team
Qualifications, Skills, And Competencies
- Minimum 1-3 years experience in a design, planning, or construction-related role, ideally within a medical or commercial environment
- Post-secondary education in architecture, interior design, construction management, or a related field
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites, as needed
- Strong understanding of space planning, interior finishes, building materials, and applicable building codes and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and floor plans
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills working with diverse stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficient in design softwares (AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
