Description:

Le Groupe Gesfor Poirier Pinchin inc., a well-established consulting firm with a team of 170 experts in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, building sciences, geotechnics, and environmental studies, is seeking a Geotechnical and Environmental Technician to join its dynamic team in Montreal. This role offers a diverse range of field and office tasks, with a focus on geotechnical surveys and environmental site assessments (Phases II, III, and IV).

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting site supervision for drilling, trenching, and installation of observation wells and piezometers.

• Collecting and analyzing soil, rock, groundwater, and wastewater samples, including in-situ testing.

• Maintaining detailed field logs according to company standards and preparing drilling reports.

• Conducting surveying of boreholes and supervising environmental rehabilitation work.

• Enforcing health and safety regulations on-site and preparing related reports and checklists.

• Assisting project managers with various tasks to ensure smooth project execution.

The position involves approximately 90% fieldwork and 10% office work, with occasional short-term assignments outside the Montreal metropolitan area.

Requirements:

• College or university education in geotechnics, environment, or a related field

• At least 1 year of relevant experience

• Proficiency in French and English (oral and written)

• ASP Construction health and safety certification

• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team
