Health And Safety Supervisor

Description:

PCL Construction is seeking a Health and Safety Supervisor for its Montreal office. The role involves implementing and supporting project HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) plans, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices. The supervisor will lead HSE inspections, evaluate hazard identification, assist in emergency response planning, and ensure compliance with OH&S and environmental legislation. The position requires supervising, coaching, and mentoring HSE Coordinators and other employees, while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and support project HSE plans and safe work practices

• Identify, evaluate, develop, and deliver project-specific HSE training

• Lead project HSE inspections and monitor effectiveness

• Recommend corrective actions for systemic safety issues

• Evaluate and maintain emergency response, security, and environmental plans

• Supervise, coach, train, and mentor HSE staff

• Develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field

• Holds relevant safety designation

• Strong knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation

• 7 years’ experience in health and safety, 2 years supervisory experience preferred

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to adopt new technology

• Strong understanding of construction processes and terminology
