Founding Software Development Engineer

As a key leader in the new startup, you will help chose the appropriate design architecture and technology stacks. As a Saas solution, initial thoughts are towards Javascript and AWS as the backbone with other supporting frameworks being utilized for application development. The technology stacks will be integrated with sensor hardware on construction equipment and geospatial technology solutions.

Role Specific Details

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer who has 5+ years of experience building and/or leading teams. In your role you will be:

• Owning, developing and architecting the SaaS application end to end. Initial focus is on building a minimum viable product.
• Integrating the solution with the relevant GPS solutions and construction equipment sensor hardware.
• Working with various cross functional teams: Geotechnical Engineers, Sales and Marketing, UI/UX, Operations, Design, Etc
• Working closely with users. The plan is to utilize a partner geotechnical services firm, AllRock Consulting, that will have a relevant user base for Compactica.
• Getting deep with code as well as helping architect the solution and build engineering and development teams for scale.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with building SaaS solutions preferred but other relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience working in backend/cloud environments like AWS.
• Experience working in a collaborative environment.
• Experience with start-ups or leading the development of new innovations would be a value-add.
