Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

GFL Environmental Inc. is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanic, Fleet Maintenance professional to join their Emerald Park, SK team. This is a full-time, on-site position ideal for an experienced and enthusiastic mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment and has a passion for maintaining a state-of-the-art fleet.

In this role, you will be responsible for the routine preventive maintenance and repair of a diverse range of mobile and stationary equipment, ensuring maximum performance, safety, and reliability. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and committed to meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards. The position requires the mechanic to supply their own hand tools; a tool allowance is available after one year of service.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Conducting preventive maintenance and diagnostic work on various mechanical systems

• Performing repairs on engines, transmissions, brake systems, hydraulics, driveline, and more

• Testing repaired equipment to confirm proper performance

• Documenting all repairs clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner

• Installing or fabricating aftermarket components when required

• Participating actively in GFL’s safety program, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and policies

• Collaborating with the Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, and Parts Coordinator to ensure efficient operations

Requirements:

• Apprentice Certificate or willingness to pursue apprenticeship

• Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract required; 1A or 3A License preferred

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills on a variety of machines and equipment

• Experience with SGI Motor Vehicle Inspection Program is considered an asset
