Description:
Circle of Friends for Newcomers in Hamilton, Ontario, is seeking a Part-time Executive Director to lead and manage its operations for 20 hours per week. This not-for-profit organization is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and plays a crucial role in providing Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) and related support programs. The organization serves a diverse newcomer population and is committed to fostering inclusive, innovative language education and services.
The Executive Director will be responsible for the leadership and operational oversight of the organization, supervising IRCC-funded staff, coordinating employment processes, and supporting effective program delivery. This is a vital leadership position requiring a passion for community service, organizational management, and supporting immigrant integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and provide strategic direction to IRCC-funded staff.
Prepare and distribute employment agreements.
Monitor and evaluate staff performance.
Direct staff activities and ensure program objectives are met.
Collaborate with the LINC Coordinator and Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) Supervisor in hiring processes.
Ensure compliance with organizational and funding requirements.
Qualifications:
Education: Post-secondary education is required.
Experience: Minimum of two years in a management role, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting.
Additional Skills: Recent experience working with immigrants and a solid background in English language instruction.
