About The Open Education Resource Coordinator Role

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Longo Faculty of Business, the Open Education Resource (OER) Coordinator supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Open Education Resource (OER) initiatives and online learning environments within the Faculty. The incumbent sources, develops, curates, and maintains high-quality, accessible, and open (no-cost or minimal cost) learning resources that support student success and align with Humber’s academic, accessibility, and quality standards.

In addition to supporting OER initiatives, the Coordinator provides operational and technical support for assigned online courses and related projects, ensuring that course content, digital resources, and learning activities remain accurate, accessible, current, and aligned with course and program requirements. Working collaboratively with faculty, Program Coordinators, and academic leadership, the incumbent supports instructional design activities, maintains online course sites, assists with the integration of educational technologies, monitors and communicates course-related information, and contributes to the effective delivery and continuous enhancement of the online learning experience.

Education
 

  • The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Education, Library and Information Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The incumbent will also have experience supporting online learning environments and learning management systems, with strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Open Educational Resources (OER), digital accessibility standards, Microsoft Office applications, and educational technologies such as Blackboard Ultra, D2L and Articulate Rise is preferred.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and AI-enabled educational tools is considered an asset.
