District Installation Manager

 

Description:

The District Installation Manager (DIM) will be responsible for managing all installation projects for their district to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, while meeting margin expectations and maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

The DIM will lead a team of Project Managers, Installation Technicians, and an Installation Scheduler to drive successful installation project delivery.

This position will report directly to the District General Manager and will have regular interaction with Regional Project Administration and Regional Finance leadership as required. The role will also collaborate with Procurement and National and Regional Account Sales teams.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mentor and coach the Installation Scheduler as needed.
  • Ensure the Installation team remains fully productive to drive completion of all installation projects assigned to the district.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop the Installation Team and Project Managers.
  • Review and approve timecards for the Installation team, with a focus on managing overtime costs.
  • Build and manage a network of subcontractors to ensure timely project completion and revenue delivery.
  • Manage and monitor improvement processes and tools to enhance delivery quality, operating efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost control.
  • Coordinate with sales and technical teams as needed for successful project delivery.
  • Support regional forecasting and revenue commitments for the team.
  • Drive project profitability by reviewing POC jobs to ensure alignment between revenue and costs.
  • Assist with periodic inventory processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of managerial or supervisory operations experience in the electronic security or related industry.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on project management experience for large projects within the electronic security or construction industry.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with vendors and external stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated and data-driven professional with strong business and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership with the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal), collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with AI tools, Smartsheets, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (MS Dynamics/Solomon preferred), as well as other online systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to occasionally lift parts and equipment (up to 25 lbs), sit or stand for extended periods, and work with standard office equipment.
  • Ability to travel as required and navigate customer and/or construction sites.
