Description:
J.S. Held, a global consulting firm, seeks a Consultant specialized in construction claims and dispute resolution to join their Construction Advisory Team in Montreal. The role focuses on contract/change order management, critical path scheduling analysis, cost and damage quantification, and document review related to engineering and construction projects. The Consultant will analyze schedules, costs, labor, materials, and productivity losses, preparing reports and memos, and potentially traveling to project sites and client offices.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct schedule delay analysis and loss of productivity/efficiency evaluations
Assess scope changes and analyze labor, equipment, and material costs
Calculate escalated costs and analyze extended general conditions
Quantify unabsorbed home office overhead
Review and organize project documentation such as contracts, reports, and correspondence
Develop work products including memos, presentations, and analytical reports
Travel as needed for site visits and client meetings
Required Qualifications:
Experience with engineering/construction firms or construction claims/dispute resolution firms
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or relevant Engineering discipline (Structural, Civil, Electrical, MEP)
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Proficiency in Bluebeam or other PDF management software
Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across organizational levels
Professionalism, attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to complete projects within deadlines
