Cloud Solution Architect

Description:

Iris Software Inc., a global IT solutions and services company, is seeking a Cloud Solution Architect on behalf of its client, one of the top five banks in Canada. This is a long-term contract role based in Toronto, ON, with a hybrid working model. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and guiding cloud solutions that support the bank’s large-scale digital and operational transformation initiatives.

As the largest bank in Canada by market capitalization, serving over 17 million clients globally, the client provides a wide range of banking, investing, asset management, and risk-management services to individual consumers, small and mid-sized businesses, and large corporations. The Cloud Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in enabling efficient, secure, and scalable cloud solutions to meet the bank’s technology and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and design cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS and/or Azure (expertise in one platform required; both preferred).

• Ensure cloud solutions are optimized for performance, security, and cost-effectiveness, incorporating FinOps considerations.

• Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to ensure effective solution delivery.

• Provide expertise in building and managing an operational data store.

• Contribute to initiatives involving Salesforce FSC (Financial Services Cloud).

• Support process automation and workflow management using Business Process Management (BPM) tools, such as Appian or similar platforms.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect with deep expertise in AWS and/or Azure.

• Ability to assess, design, and implement scalable and optimized cloud solutions.

• Strong understanding of FinOps principles for cost and resource optimization in cloud environments.

• Experience working in financial services or large enterprise environments is an asset.

• Familiarity with Salesforce FSC, BPM platforms, and data architecture.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
