Civil Estimator

Description:

Environmentall Contracting Services (ECSI) is seeking a Civil Estimator to join our team in Kingston, ON. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing estimates throughout the civil project lifecycle, from bid/tender quotes to detailed job costing templates and change notices (CCNs). This role requires a deep understanding of project objectives, breakdown structures, and cost determination across labour, equipment, and materials.

The Civil Estimator will report to the Civil Project Manager and play a key role in improving estimating accuracy while leveraging both theoretical and historical production data.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Develop detailed estimates and manage cost templates throughout project phases.
✅ Prepare and analyze project Tender/Quotes, Job Costing Forms (JCF), Contemplated Change Notices (CCNs), and Requests for Information (RFIs).
✅ Continuously improve estimating accuracy by integrating real-time and historical data.
✅ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights that enhance bid success rates.
✅ Utilize estimating software and tools such as Procore, MS Office, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Project.

Ideal Candidate:

• University Degree or College Diploma in Engineering, Architectural, or Construction.
• 5+ years’ experience in civil construction.
• 3+ years of direct estimating experience for civil construction projects valued over $2MM.
• PMP certification is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, precision, and problem-solving skills.
• A curious mindset with a passion for continuous learning.
