Description:

Michels Corporation, a nationally recognized contractor in energy, infrastructure, and power construction, is seeking a CCTV Sewer Truck Operator to join their dynamic Pipe Services team based in Toronto, Ontario. This is a full-time union position offering rewarding fieldwork, professional development, and the chance to work on impactful trenchless sewer and stormwater rehabilitation projects.

As a CCTV Sewer Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating specialized camera trucks to inspect underground sewer systems, identifying and mapping project requirements and potential defects. The position involves traveling to various project sites across regions, with accommodations and per diem covered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CCTV camera truck and electromagnetic induction locating equipment to inspect and map sewer/storm infrastructure

• Conduct site assessments using project sheets and maps

• Create accurate digital site sketches and maintain detailed records of inspections

• Drive and maintain a service vehicle, ensuring safe storage and inventory of equipment

• Identify safety hazards and stop work when unsafe conditions are observed

• Promote and follow company safety policies, procedures, and regulations

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and confined spaces

• Collaborate with the team to maintain Michels’ culture and uphold company values

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Proficient in operating CCTV sewer inspection and locating equipment

• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions on the job site

• Physically fit to perform strenuous tasks in confined spaces and variable weather

• Must comprehend and follow instructions related to safety, equipment use, and construction practices

• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

• Willingness to travel frequently with flexible work hours and days

Desired Skills / Certifications:

• NASSCO Certification

• PACP (Pipeline Assessment Certification Program)

• Confined Space Entry Certification

• WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid (asset)

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Fluent in English, both written and verbal
