Business Development And Marketing Director



  • Develop and expand our marketing strategies to promote Powertech’s services and products in North American and international markets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the electrical utility industry, with specific focus on the emerging Hydrogen market.
  • Proactively monitor market trends that will result to new business opportunities, increased revenue and contracts with clients.
  • Perform market research and competitor analysis to support decision making and work with leadership team towards obtaining an increased market share.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, testing, operations and manufacturing to ensure that Powertech’s services and products meet the needs of our customers.
  • Manage, set objectives and motivate sales and business development professionals in the design and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies including the development of marketing material, website, and market engagement through social media channels.
  • Manage, develop long-term action plans and create customer satisfaction-related reports based on data collected from customer satisfaction survey.
  • Analyze the sales forecast and supports the generation and presentation of forecast-related reports.
  • Strengthen industry partnerships with key industry players and infrastructure operators. Assess and advise on potential joint venture structures or consortia to promote or deliver large scale hydrogen opportunities.
  • Travel is required to client sites, conferences and events.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or equivalent field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years proven sales experience including business development and marketing preferably in electrical utility industry a focus on the emerging Hydrogen market.
  • Strong competency in identifying profitable business opportunities and potential clients particularly focused on international markets, including Asia and Europe.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of marketing and business development professionals.
  • Advanced knowledge of business development, marketing strategies, and brand expansion.
  • Competency in negotiating and closing business deals as well as managing proposals and negotiating contracts.
  • Exceptional ability to analyze market trends, competitors and customer behavior. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Previous experience in engineering consulting would be an asset.
  • Strong competency in identifying profitable business opportunities and potential clients.
  • Experience with CRM implementation.
