Air Import Operations Specialist

Description:

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics, a leading international freight and logistics company with over 160,000 employees across 90+ countries, is seeking a dedicated Operations, Air Import Specialist to join their Montreal team.

This role is responsible for processing all inbound air shipments, coordinating movements, ensuring compliance with both DSV policies and government regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating with overseas offices, airlines, warehouses, and truckers to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate daily air import shipments from start to finish.

• Establish and schedule shipments with carriers, ensuring timely tendering.

• Prepare and manage country-specific documentation and ensure compliance with international shipping regulations.

• Track, trace, and monitor all shipments, proactively resolving issues.

• Confirm rates, control costs, and consolidate shipments to achieve cost-effective logistics solutions.

• Prepare and publish reports as required.

• Oversee new account implementations and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.

• Ensure compliance with DSV KPIs and quality standards.

Quality, Health & Safety Responsibilities:

• Support DSV’s ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certifications at the Montreal location.

• Adhere to DSV’s Quality Health Safety Environment (QHSE) policies.

• Actively contribute to sustainability, health, and safety practices, minimizing workplace incidents and environmental impact.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong verbal and written communication in English and French (bilingual required).

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to multitask, plan, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; CargoWise knowledge is an asset.

Physical & Work Conditions:

• Primarily desk-based with prolonged sitting/standing.

• Regular working hours; occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.
