As an Actuarial Consultant specializing in pricing for regulated personal auto insurance, you will play a leading role analyzing auto insurance pricing for the Maritime provinces and Quebec, or Ontario, with a high degree of autonomy. The role includes mentoring actuarial analysts and applying actuarial expertise to solve complex business problems while providing strategic insights.
Analytics
Research, extract, and manipulate complex data from relevant sources; assess data quality.
Support the business and team with timely analyses, reviews, and ad hoc requests with minimal supervision.
Industry Awareness
Identify emerging industry trends and analyze their business impact.
Stakeholder Management
Provide periodic project updates to stakeholders.
Anticipate and report potential obstacles proactively.
Project Management
Lead projects from initiation to completion.
Manage implementation of final products.
Develop training and documentation as required.
Mentorship
Actively mentor, train, and develop actuarial analysts.
Build credibility and trust with peers.
Develop strong collaborative relationships across teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
Over 4 years of actuarial experience preferred.
CAS exams passed (7 exams) or ACAS designation is an asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to translate technical actuarial concepts into meaningful business insights.
Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, R, Python, or other programming/software relevant to actuarial work.
Deep understanding of actuarial science, mathematics, probabilities, statistics, and financial/business principles applied to insurance.
High attention to detail and accuracy in analyses.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
