Radio-Canada, part of CBC/Radio-Canada — Canada’s national public broadcaster — is seeking a talented and passionate Videographer to join its newsroom team in Saint John, New Brunswick. This is a full-time permanent on-site position that offers an exciting opportunity to create impactful visual journalism for national audiences across multiple platforms including television, digital, streaming, YouTube, radio, and CBC GEM.

The Videographer will play a vital role in producing engaging, accurate, and creative video content that connects Canadians with meaningful stories. Responsibilities include shooting, editing, packaging, and delivering video content under tight deadlines, often for breaking news as well as feature storytelling. The candidate will contribute creatively to CBC’s evolving video strategy and ensure all content meets CBC’s high journalistic standards of fairness, balance, and integrity.

Key duties include:

  • Filming and editing high-quality video for broadcast and digital platforms using ENG cameras, wireless microphones, lighting, and communication tools.

  • Handling live streaming setups, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting video production for programs like the 6 PM news.

  • Demonstrating strong editorial judgment, visual storytelling, and creative use of graphics and stills.

  • Managing multiple deadlines efficiently while maintaining production excellence.

  • Assisting new reporters with developing their on-camera and production skills.

  • Maintaining a professional and respectful work environment that reflects CBC’s values of diversity and inclusion.

  • Traveling to various locations to cover stories and events across the region.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of video production systems such as Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar tools.

  • Knowledge of video/audio standards, file formats, and codecs.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom.

  • Must be flexible with working hours and willing to work overtime as needed.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent education and experience in journalism or a related field.
