Description:
As a Videojournalist, you will shoot and edit footage, write copy, and produce live or packaged reports for all CBC video platforms and programs.
Tasks
- Keep up with current events by consulting a variety of sources.
- Forge and maintain contacts with various sources.
- Propose and be assigned topics for news items, reports, interviews, and special features.
- Research, gather, evaluate and check all material on the story being covered.
- Shoot, light, edit reports. Present them for broadcast.
- Drive a news vehicle.
- Be prepared to file for any CBC news platform.
- Solid command of communication skills specific to the medium as well as interview techniques.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Three (3) years experience in journalism or an equivalent experience in media production.
- Competencies:
- Awareness of what’s happening in the news in Canada and abroad.
- Good knowledge of New Brunswick current events.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to understand spoken and written French is an asset.
- Knowledge of video and editing techniques.
- Valid driver's license.
