Description:
Purolator Inc., a leading name in Canadian logistics and courier services, is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Utility Courier to join its Swift Current operations. This role is designed for individuals who are ready to step in and cover various courier shifts, ensuring timely package pick-up and delivery to meet customer commitments. The position involves operating across different shifts to support absent couriers, making flexibility a key requirement.
As a Utility Courier, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently picking up and delivering customer packages, adhering to strict daily schedules. The role requires scanning packages at each stage—when received, delivered, or returned to the depot—and ensuring accurate record-keeping. You will also be expected to collaborate with Dispatch and customers to resolve any issues encountered on the road.
Vehicle safety is a high priority, and daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections must be conducted using the E-DVIR system. Any mechanical issues or inspection failures must be reported promptly to the unit manager. Working conditions include time spent on the road, outdoors, and within a warehouse environment, so adaptability to varying work environments is essential.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of vocational and business courses at high school level
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
Proficiency in domestic shipping, courier operations, and shipping/receiving procedures
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules
Working Conditions: On the road, outdoors, and warehouse environments
