Tax Specialist

ABV Associés, a reputable accounting firm based in Montreal, is actively seeking a Fiscaliste (Tax Specialist) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role offers a dynamic opportunity for a mid-level professional looking to deepen their expertise in both tax compliance and tax planning within a collaborative environment.

As a Fiscaliste, you will play a pivotal role in handling diverse mandates ranging from corporate and individual tax compliance to advisory services in complex tax reorganizations and transactional planning. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality tax solutions while maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and supporting internal development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts

• Provide expert responses to client tax inquiries

• Participate in special projects such as reorganizations, rollovers, mergers, and acquisitions

• Contribute to strategic tax planning for both corporate and individual clients

• Conduct technical tax research and draft memorandums

• Handle tax audits, objections, and disputes with tax authorities

• Review complex tax forms and elections

• Support colleagues with technical tax matters and participate in internal training

• Address indirect tax (e.g., sales tax, source deductions) issues

• Draft and publish both internal and external tax communications

Candidate Profile:

• Holder of a second-cycle degree in taxation

• CPA designation or equivalent qualification

• 3–6 years of relevant experience within a firm setting

• High level of autonomy, analytical skills, and professionalism

• Strong writing ability and meticulous attention to detail
