Summer Road Worker

Description:

The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable du Québec (MTMD) offers a stimulating and rewarding summer job as a Road Worker in Magog. This position involves hands-on outdoor work contributing directly to the maintenance and safety of Quebec’s road infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Perform manual labor including digging and filling holes and trenches.

• Prune and cut down trees as required.

• Load and unload construction materials and handle heavy objects.

• Manage traffic control on-site.

• Spread bituminous concrete and bonding agents.

• Repair culverts and foundations; install culverts and clean drainage structures such as catch basins and storm sewers.

• Work at heights performing repairs, formwork, concreting, and cleaning.

• Repair, replace or install safety elements along roadways.

• Use light and portable equipment such as pneumatic hammers and vibratory plates.

• Receive and verify construction materials on-site.

• Assist with surveying and measurement work.

• Drive light vehicles or vans as required.

• Perform other related tasks as necessary.

Requirements:

• Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or valid federal work permit to work in Quebec’s public service.

• Functional knowledge of French appropriate to the role.

• Manual work skills and ability to work safely at heights.

• Autonomy, resourcefulness, initiative, and team spirit.

• Availability to work 38 hours and 45 minutes per week.

• Position begins June 2025.
