Description:

Manulife is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director, Strategy & Business Architecture to join the Canada segment’s Technology & Operations Strategy team. This role plays a key part in leading large-scale business and technology transformations, leveraging artificial intelligence and automation to drive innovation, efficiency, and improved customer experiences.

The Director will collaborate closely with business and technology leaders to craft customer-focused strategies, assess their impact on operating models, and create transformation roadmaps that align business goals with technological capabilities. Responsibilities include facilitating investment planning, developing business and technology roadmaps, conducting capability and value stream assessments, and ensuring successful alignment between strategy and execution.

Key responsibilities also include staying current with industry and market trends, identifying opportunities for technology innovation, overseeing product/vendor integration, and ensuring cost optimization and risk mitigation. The Director will provide leadership in building and governing business architecture blueprints, outcome-based transformation initiatives, and capability frameworks to deliver long-term value.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience driving large-scale business transformations and leading strategic initiatives.

• Strong enterprise-wide perspective with an understanding of strategy, processes, governance, and enabling technologies.

• Proven ability to act as a liaison between business and IT, aligning strategies, initiatives, and technology adoption.

• Experience in business architecture, value stream mapping, SWOT analysis, and outcome-based transformation governance.

• Strong decision-making, situational analysis, and communication skills across all organizational levels.

• Prior management consulting experience focused on strategy and transformation is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or technology (or equivalent experience).

• Deep familiarity with EA frameworks such as Zachman and TOGAF, and Business Architecture Guild methodologies.
