MSC Industrial Supply Co., a leading North American distributor of metalworking and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) products, is seeking a highly driven and results-oriented Strategic Account Representative to join their Montreal team. With over 2 million products, 80+ years of experience, and a strong focus on innovative supply chain solutions, MSC helps customers achieve higher productivity, profitability, and growth.
The Strategic Account Representative will be responsible for driving long-term profitable sales growth by developing new, high-value accounts in a defined geographic territory. This role involves comprehensive prospecting, negotiating contracts, and achieving monthly revenue quotas, while representing MSC’s value proposition to large-scale clients.
Develop and execute a comprehensive prospecting plan targeting high-potential customers.
Open and manage new strategic accounts to meet sales and market plan goals.
Conduct detailed client needs analyses and negotiate long-term contracts.
Develop pricing schedules aligned with gross margin objectives.
Provide market intelligence to inform company strategies.
Deliver compelling presentations across various levels, from boardrooms to shop floors.
Prepare timely reports and participate in special projects as required.

Education: High school diploma/GED required; college degree (2–4 years) preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of proven success in system, conceptual, or solution-based sales within a value-added environment.
Strong track record in new account acquisition and high-value sales achievements.
Excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills (written & verbal).
Ability to develop client relationships with high integrity and trust.
Proficiency in sales tools including laptops, spreadsheets, word processing, email, and CRM software.
Technical knowledge of products (fasteners, chemicals, industrial supplies, electrical, plumbing, welding, shop supplies) is an asset.
Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel up to 75% within assigned territory (some overnight travel required).
Ability to lift/move products up to 40 lbs.
Base Salary: CAD 50000 – 65000 annually + substantial commission structure.
Average earnings: CAD 150000 annually; top performers: up to CAD 250000 annually.
