Staff Pharmacist

A dynamic, well-established healthcare and pharmaceutical organization in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking a Staff Pharmacist – Compounding for its specialized sterile compounding facility located in Oshawa. This facility, which is not open to the public, is a high-volume, cutting-edge drug preparation site focused on producing high-cost and specialty medications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who desires better work-life balance, with no evening or weekend shifts and a stable Monday-to-Friday daytime schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and actively participate in the compounding of sterile medications, such as IV solutions and injections.

• Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques to maintain sterility.

• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations (NAPRA, USP, FDA).

• Maintain accurate documentation including batch records and quality control checks.

• Oversee environmental monitoring and maintain sterile lab cleanliness standards.

• Verify drugs for sterility, potency, and stability prior to release.

• Review and approve prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.

• Label medications and ensure proper inventory of sterile supplies and raw materials.

• Monitor storage conditions, ensuring temperature-controlled environments.

• Train and mentor staff, including regular competency assessments for aseptic technique.

• Support pharmacy operations as needed beyond routine duties.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of pharmacist experience, ideally in a sterile compounding setting.

• Must hold a Part A Pharmacist license in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

• Experience in a leadership role is a strong asset.

• Demonstrated expertise in complex compounding is required.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or equivalent.

• Valid Ontario Pharmacist license (Part A) in good standing.

Working Conditions:

• Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

• Shift: Day Shift (Monday to Friday only)

• Compensation: CAD 100,000 to 110,000 annually + Benefits + Wellness Allowance

• Travel & Relocation: No travel or relocation assistance required

• Management Duties: This is not a managerial role, but may include team mentorship
