Fondation Bas de laine is a mission-driven organization established to restore power and independence to women who have experienced violence. In response to the tragic wave of femicides in 2021, the foundation emerged from a deep desire to act and make a tangible difference.

Through partnerships with shelters and women’s support organizations, the Foundation provides financial cushions—“bas de laine” (nest eggs)—to women leaving violent environments. These funds help them begin a new chapter with security, dignity, and hope. The first distributions began in April 2024, following a successful partnership with La Clé sur la porte in Saint-Hyacinthe.

To accelerate fundraising efforts and broaden our impact, we are looking for a dedicated, strategic, and results-oriented professional to join our remote team as a Philanthropy and Sponsorship Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Update the foundation’s visibility plan and solicitation tools to reflect current needs and goals.

• Design, plan, and execute effective fundraising strategies.

• Proactively research, identify, and solicit corporate sponsors and individual donors.

• Draft and manage agreements, visibility plans, presentations, and solicitation materials.

• Maintain accurate and organized records in the donor database.

• Continuously monitor and identify new funding opportunities and philanthropic trends.

Requirements:

• Relevant education or equivalent professional experience in fundraising, communications, or nonprofit work.

• Strong knowledge of the philanthropic and nonprofit landscape in Quebec/Canada.

• Ability to develop and implement results-driven strategies.

• Excellent skills in solicitation, sales, and negotiation.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication in French; English proficiency is an asset.

• Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
