The Software Engineer – AI Systems role is a remote contractor position designed for highly skilled developers who want to contribute to next-generation machine learning and AI infrastructure. The successful candidate will work with world-class AI research teams to build, optimize, and maintain robust systems supporting complex machine learning applications.

This position offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to work on impactful projects across global AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable systems supporting AI and machine learning applications.

• Utilize coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code) for realistic coding and automation on production-level codebases.

• Collaborate with AI research and engineering teams to enhance system performance, reliability, and model efficiency.

• Perform independent problem-solving and asynchronous collaboration with minimal supervision.

• Contribute to open-source projects and share personal technical work publicly via GitHub.

• Continuously evaluate and improve existing AI infrastructure and development processes.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Proven expertise in programming languages such as Rust, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Practical experience using AI coding assistants like Codex, Claude Code, etc.

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science from a prestigious university in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand.

• Residence in one of the above-mentioned countries.

• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong analytical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active open-source project contributions or personal projects visible on GitHub.

• Experience building robust, production-grade AI or ML systems.

Engagement Details:

• Contract Type: Hourly contractor role.

• Commitment: 10–20 hours per week (potential expansion to 40 hours).

• Duration: Minimum of 2 weeks with potential for extension.

• Compensation: $70–$100 per hour, paid weekly through Stripe Connect.

• Work Mode: 100% remote and asynchronous.

• Start Date: Early October (applications reviewed on a rolling basis).
