Senior Sr&ed Consultant

 

Description:

As a Senior SR&ED Consultant focused on clients specializing in Information Technology at ABGi Canada, you will bring strong technical skills on a team of other STEM backgrounds and work in a collaborative team setting to identify and substantiate R&D tax credit claims for clients across Canada. This role will specialize with working with clients in the Information Technology sector. ABGi Canada has worked with hundreds of clients in the architecture, engineering, software, biomedical sciences, oil and gas, manufacturing, apparel, brewing, aerospace, and agriculture industries.

Location

Position based in Toronto, with the possibility of hybrid work. Occasional travel may be required depending on business needs.

Responsibilities
 

  • Through interactions with clients and the ABGI Conseil Mission Management, identify activities eligible for the SR&ED tax credit and develop the structure of the claims.
  • Identify the expenses related to these activities that are eligible for the SR&ED tax credit and/or government grants and subsidies.
  • Drafting the SR&ED claims or grants and subsidies to be submitted to the tax authorities, in collaboration with the client and under the supervision of the ABGI Conseil project manager.
  • Document the claims using the relevant forms and technical reports to support the work.
  • Assist clients in the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) audit process.
  • Participate in international collaborations with other subsidiaries of the group (USA; UK, France, Brazil).
     

Required Qualifications
 

  • Minimum of an advanced master’s degree or higher in engineering, IT, electronics, or related field from an accredited university
  • Minimum of one to five years of experience as a SR&ED consultant within a professional services organization
  • Knowledge of the SR&ED program and other government incentives
  • Ability to understand technological issues and to express them clearly to valorize the elements eligible to the SR&ED program.
  • Previous professional experience in IT, gaming, electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, in French and English
  • Ability to conduct technical interviews with specialists in several technological fields.
  • Excellent project management skills.
