Senior Property Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to be a key part of building and shaping the new property accounting division. Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for full-cycle property accounting for a dedicated portfolio of commercial and residential properties, including:

  • Month-end entries, bank reconciliations, chargebacks, invoice review and approvals, tenant billings, etc.

  • Manage incoming and outgoing tenant processes, as well as maintain tenant ledgers.

  • Oversee the operating budgets and forecasting for the portfolio.

  • Prepare the annual audit file and address inquiries related to the portfolio.

  • Prepare HST reconciliations and related remittances.

  • Prepare quarterly financial statements for reporting purposes.

  • Support the implementation of ongoing accounting system changes and other process improvements.

  • Answer accounting queries from tenants and property management.

  • Participate in special projects and take on additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of Property Accounting experience.

• Familiarity with residential accounting is an asset.

• University degree and professional designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) or enrollment in such a program is required.

• Deep understanding of Yardi’s Residential Modules is a must.

• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and ethics.

• Team player with a positive attitude and the flexibility to get the job done.
