Description:

The City of Bécancour is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure and Security Administrator to oversee the optimal operation of its IT infrastructure, including networks, security, and telecommunications. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology and Smart City Services, this role is pivotal in ensuring system availability, integrity, performance, and cyber vigilance.

The successful candidate will play a strategic role in evaluating and evolving the city’s information system architecture, managing documentation, leading security initiatives, and implementing business continuity strategies. They will also supervise the IT technician and support staff in infrastructure-related challenges and digital security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and design the overall architecture and evolution of information systems

  • Monitor internal needs and propose upgrades for networks, servers, and systems

  • Recommend and implement technology solutions in collaboration with technicians

  • Manage documentation of all software and hardware infrastructure (firewalls, databases, networks, security software, etc.)

  • Supervise IT technician and support their task execution

  • Ensure IT security, identify risks and threats, and implement corrective actions

  • Develop a disaster recovery plan (DRP)

  • Investigate phishing attempts and cyber alerts

  • Communicate with departments to identify infrastructure-related issues

  • Provide direct support to administrative and IT teams on security-related matters

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure and IT security management

  • At least 1 year of experience focused on cybersecurity

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

  • Professional certifications considered assets: CCNA, CISSP, SANS, GIAC, CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+, Security+

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity incident and vulnerability management

  • Experience working with security products and event logs

  • Ability to analyze unstructured data from various sources

  • Functional bilingualism (French and English)

  • Valid Class 5 Quebec driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
