Senior Frontend Engineer

EvenUp is a rapidly growing vertical SaaS company on a mission to close the justice gap using technology and AI. The Senior Frontend Engineer will join the Toronto team to build world-class engineering solutions for an AI-powered legal platform. This hybrid role involves 3 days per week collaborating in the Toronto office, focusing on delivering exceptional UI, scalable frontend architecture, and high-performance applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement high-performance, accessible, and elegant user interfaces.

• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to develop new features.

• Own frontend architecture for major product surfaces, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and performance.

• Develop and maintain design system components and shared libraries.

• Optimize web applications for speed, accessibility (a11y), SEO, and responsiveness.

• Mentor peers and promote best practices in frontend development.

• Take ownership of complex engineering projects from ideation to deployment.

Requirements:

• Deep experience with React (or Vue/Svelte), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/styled-components), and modern build tools like Vite/Webpack.

• Strong understanding of state management (Redux, Zustand, Jotai) and frontend architecture patterns.

• Experience with design systems, component libraries, and UI/UX workflows (Figma).

• Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility, and responsive design.

• Experience with frontend testing tools (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress) and Git.

• Familiarity with frontend deployment strategies and CI/CD pipelines.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with AI-driven or data-heavy applications.

• Knowledge of backend integration (GraphQL, REST APIs).

• Familiarity with SSR frameworks (Next.js), server components, or edge rendering.

• Experience with cloud platforms like Vercel, Netlify, or AWS Amplify.
