Description:
Our client, a leading manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Financial Consultant for a 3-month contract-to-hire opportunity. Reporting to the CFO, this high-impact role will be instrumental in supporting the onboarding of two major direct-to-consumer (D2C) clients. The consultant will take ownership of full-cycle accounting functions, design and implement financial processes from scratch, and lead cross-departmental projects related to end-to-end product solutions—including design, procurement, fulfillment, and production.
Note: The role is one day onsite in Toronto.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and optimize financial processes: Develop and streamline accounting operations, internal controls, and reporting frameworks to support client onboarding.
- Lead full-cycle accounting: Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Drive process improvements: Identify inefficiencies, implement best practices, and enhance financial operations across departments.
- Month-end and year-end close: Manage close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with operations, procurement, and production teams to align financial processes with business goals.
- Manage special projects: Lead client transition initiatives and drive operational scaling efforts.
- Financial point of contact: Act as the key liaison during system and process handovers.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership and process improvement responsibilities.
- Proven track record of building financial processes from the ground up in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Experience in D2C and/or product-based businesses preferred.
- Strong systems knowledge and a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.
- Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
