As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in preparing financial files, providing technical leadership, and mentoring junior staff while managing diverse client engagements. You will work closely with partners and managers, acting as a primary client contact and ensuring the highest standards of service, accuracy, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare files for corporate, individual, trust, and estate clients across diverse industries.

  • Lead engagements including Compilations, Reviews, Audits, and preparation of corporate, personal, and trust tax returns.

  • Participate in special consulting engagements of varying complexity.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff members.

  • Act as an alternate contact for clients on behalf of partners, facilitating requests, attending meetings, and ensuring responsive client communication.

  • Draft, review, and finalize financial statements and tax filings in compliance with ASPE, ASNPO, and Canadian tax standards.

  • Ensure quality assurance, attention to detail, and timely delivery of work.

  • Maintain client confidentiality and uphold professional ethics in all matters.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience.

  • Strong technical knowledge in accounting, auditing, and tax compliance.

  • Advanced understanding of Canadian taxation (personal, corporate, excise).

  • Proficiency with CaseWare/CaseView, Jazzit, Excel, TaxPrep.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.

  • Ability to mentor, lead, and develop junior team members.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Must be able to commute or relocate to Hamilton, ON before starting.
