Senior Accountant

Description:

Steve Madden Canada, a leader in fashion footwear and accessories, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its dynamic and independent team based in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. This hybrid full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a high-performance finance team in a fast-paced, fashion-driven environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and thrives in a structured setting where accuracy and compliance are key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bank reconciliations accurately and timely

• Prepare and file GST/QST returns

• Manage the complete month-end accounting cycle

• Prepare monthly financial statements

• Assist with year-end audits by reviewing accounts and balance sheet items

• Ensure all financial activities adhere to internal policies, accounting standards, and government regulations

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of accounting experience

• Experience with public companies is an asset

• DEC or BAC in Accounting; CPA designation is a plus

• Proficiency in ERP systems such as Sage

• Strong problem-solving capabilities and a team-oriented mindset

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint

• Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken)
