Description:


The Investment Operations team is responsible for managing data and investment operations activities, executing and optimizing the processes and solutions that support and enable investment activities. Additionally, they oversee a committee that presents, discusses, and approves business and technological changes related to Operational Chain activities and processes.

The team ensures that these operations are accurate, efficient, compliant, and aligned with PSP's overall investment strategy. Their activities include:
 

  • Cash administration and settlement
  • Collateral, security financing, and market events
  • Derivatives administration and settlement
  • Public markets integration and servicing
  • Data quality management
     

About Your Role

As Analyst, Collateral, Security Financing and Markets Events, you’ll:
 

  • Make margin calls to meet the various agreements: GMSLA, GMRA, ISDA/CSA, Listed Derivatives and OTC Cleared
  • Reconcile and analyze MTM spreads with counterparties, clearing brokers, and others
  • Ensure availability of funds and send transfer instructions for margin calls
  • Perform and/or verify transaction entry into the investment accounting system and ensure accuracy of financial parameters
  • Coordinate settlement instructions and counterparty contact lists
  • Reconcile transactions and positions with clearing brokers and counterparties
  • Support the team in investigations that require further analysis such as asset transfers, new products, claims, etc.
  • Participate in various projects or special requests assigned by your immediate supervisor
  • Update departmental procedures
     

What You’ll Need
 

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to finance or administration
  • Derivatives course, an asset
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in collateral management or other combination of education and relevant experience
  • A good understanding of the control environment is essential
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the securities industry and financial instruments
  • Knowledge of ISDA/CSA, GMSLA and GMRA type agreements, an asset
  • Good knowledge of Excel (functions and macros) and the MS Office suite
  • Knowledge of Simcorp Dimension, TriOptima and AcadiaSoft systems, an asset
  • Strong ability to learn new computerized systems and processes
  • Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
