Position Overview

As a Sales Representative – Field Sales (General Trade) based in GTA to oversee scope across GTA, Ontario and Montreal, you will drive revenue growth through direct sales and market expansion while managing client relationships. This full-time, permanent role involves fieldwork, customer engagement, and collaboration with internal teams, perfect for results-driven professionals who excel in dynamic settings and are comfortable with regular local travel and periodic overnight travel within Ontario and Quebec (Montreal).

 

Role & Responsibilites

 

  • Field Sales & Client Acquisition: Generate direct sales in Ontario and Quebec (Montreal) by prospecting new clients, visiting retail units, and achieving revenue targets through strategic sales approaches focused on independent/ethnic grocery and convenience stores (general trade).
  • Relationship Management: Develop and nurture strong partnerships with grocery retailers, independent/ethnic grocery stores, and convenience stores, (remove modern trade examples like Walmart/Freshco) customizing solutions to meet client needs.
  • Customer Service: Resolve escalated customer issues, such as complaints or returns, to ensure satisfaction and build long-term loyalty.
  • Product Promotion: Highlight the unique qualities of our products, aligning them with customer needs and company objectives to boost engagement.
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences, providing actionable insights to guide strategic decisions.
  • Portfolio Management: Efficiently manage sales activities, including CRM updates, order processing, merchandising, and business development, with a focus on resourcefulness.
  • Collaboration: Partner with back-end operations and other teams to align strategies and share field insights.
  • Event Representation: Represent ITN Food Corp. at trade shows and events to enhance brand visibility and expand networks.
  • Work closely with the other functions of the company e.g. Operations, Logistics and retailers to support order flow, replenishment, and in-store execution (sell-in/sell-through).
  • Maintain strong on-shelf availability by checking stock levels, identifying out-of-stocks, and supporting basic merchandising/visibility.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3–5 years in sales; experience, preferably, in South Asian markets, food industry, or field sales is an advantage. (Optional improvement: “CPG/grocery/distribution” wording)
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English required; proficiency in Hindi/Urdu or Punjabi a strong asset.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Sales Performance: Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and secure new business.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho) and sales analytics.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in fast-paced environments with flexible schedules and frequent travel within GTA, Ontario, and periodic travel to Quebec (Montreal).
  • Resourcefulness: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic setting.
  • Valid Driving License with Vehicle.
