The Collectif de Défense des Droits de la Montérégie (CDDM) is actively seeking a passionate and socially conscious Conseiller.ère en défense des droits (Rights Advocacy Counselor) to join its committed and experienced team starting September. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with the realities faced by individuals affected by mental health issues in Quebec, while also participating in systemic transformation and community empowerment.

This hybrid role combines individual advocacy, community mobilization, educational outreach, and sociopolitical representation—ideal for someone driven by a strong sense of justice and equipped with both interpersonal and professional competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual rights defense support to people navigating mental health challenges

• Welcome and engage new members from the assigned sub-region

• Organize and lead community-building and popular education activities

• Represent the organization at various local and regional forums

• Manage communications with partners and organizations in the sub-region

• Actively participate in team meetings, organizational planning, and democratic decision-making processes

• Take responsibility for designated projects or advocacy dossiers

• Contribute to the organization’s strategic analysis, outreach, and transformation efforts

Required Profile:

• College or university education preferred; relevant experience and skills may be considered in lieu of formal education

• Strong commitment to the organization's mission, values, and participatory management model

• Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to work independently

• Excellent written and spoken French; English proficiency is a strong asset

• Valid driver's license is required due to travel across the Montérégie region
