Registered Practical Nurse

Description:

A state-of-the-art brand new healthcare facility in Mississauga is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse to join their team. This role offers flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, midnights, and weekends, with competitive weekly pay.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in patient care across senior care, pediatrics, and acute care settings, capable of managing multiple cases effectively with excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patient health, documenting changes and communicating with healthcare teams

• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care and case management

• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and prevention

• Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems like Epic

• Ensure safety and infection control compliance in care environments

• Participate in lab tests and interpret results to guide care decisions

Skills and Qualifications:

• Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) registered under the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)

• Must provide clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC), TB test, and proof of Covid-19 vaccination

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient care techniques

• Experience in senior care settings required; pediatrics experience is an asset

• Competent in acute care procedures and protocols

• Skilled in electronic health record systems, especially Epic

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple patients effectively

Work Hours and Pay:

• Shifts: Morning (7am-3pm), Afternoon (3pm-11pm), Midnight (11pm-7am)

• Weekend shifts available

• Pay rate: $40.00/hour

• Weekly pay with flexible scheduling options (part-time/full-time)
