Quality Assurance Engineer

Description:

Picton Mahoney Asset Management, one of Canada’s most trusted investment brands, is looking for a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment, playing a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the firm’s SaaS application.

The selected candidate will develop, design, and execute comprehensive test strategies, combining both manual and automated testing, ensuring the delivery of seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for SaaS applications, covering functional and non-functional requirements.
✅ Design and implement automated test suites, including building test automation frameworks from scratch.
✅ Conduct manual testing such as exploratory, regression, and usability testing.
✅ Perform API testing to ensure backend services function properly.
✅ Develop and maintain end-to-end (E2E) tests to validate critical user flows.
✅ Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure product quality at all stages.
✅ Identify, document, and track defects using a bug tracking system.
✅ Analyze test results and provide detailed quality reports.
✅ Research and evaluate new testing tools and technologies to enhance testing capabilities.
✅ Continuously seek opportunities to improve the overall testing process.

Required Qualifications:

🎓 Education: Not specified, but relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent is expected.
📈 Experience:

• Minimum 6 years in software quality assurance.
• Strong experience in manual and automated testing of web applications.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
• Proficiency in at least one E2E automation framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, TestCafe).
• Experience building test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (TypeScript preferred).
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (React) and back-end technologies (NestJS) is highly desirable.

Nice to Have:
✅ Experience with tools specifically suited to React and NestJS testing.
✅ Experience in performance and load testing.
✅ Exposure to security testing.
✅ Knowledge of CI/CD integration within Azure DevOps.
