Description:

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Project Manager to join its Major Projects team on a permanent basis. This pivotal role is focused on the Co-op Energy Roadmap Project, FCL’s most transformative initiative to date, aimed at driving the organization’s transition toward a low-carbon future by 2040.

Based in Regina, Saskatchewan, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work across Western Canada, this position offers an opportunity to lead major energy transition initiatives that will shape the future of sustainable energy and community empowerment across the region.

As Project Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of a large-scale energy project from conception through completion. You’ll be responsible for ensuring successful delivery through effective project governance, strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and team leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Leadership: Define project success criteria, design objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Risk Management: Identify project risks, create mitigation strategies, and oversee ongoing monitoring and control measures.

  • Project Execution: Prepare and review detailed cost estimates, schedules, RFEs, and comprehensive project plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

  • Team Coordination: Lead engineering service providers, contractors, and construction teams through all project phases, including design, early works, execution, and demobilization.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with Refinery Operations, Turnaround Planning, and Construction Management to develop efficient construction execution strategies.

  • Pre-Construction Oversight: Organize and facilitate pre-construction meetings focusing on timelines, budgets, change management, and safety standards.

  • Commissioning & Start-Up: Support the commissioning and operational handover of new facilities, ensuring seamless integration with existing refinery operations.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide engineers, technicians, tradespeople, and contractors, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven work culture.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Industrial Systems (a combination of education and experience may be considered).

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the petroleum or oil & gas industry managing large-scale or mega projects.

  • Membership or eligibility for membership with APEGS as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams on high-value, complex engineering or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, budgeting, risk analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
