Project Architect

Architecture49 Inc. (A49) is seeking a Project Architect to join their Ontario Seaway Corridor team in a hybrid or remote capacity, preferably based in Kingston or the surrounding region. This is a full-time position designed for a licensed professional with strong leadership, coordination, and design skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead remote teams of architectural professionals and oversee project meetings.

• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

• Produce design concepts, detailed construction drawings, and documentation.

• Conduct internal quality assurance reviews to ensure adherence to codes, guidelines, and standards.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff.

• Oversee contract administration including reviewing RFIs, submittals, and field visits.

• Support project financial management including planning, scheduling, staffing, and forecasting for successful outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Must be a registered architect in Ontario, or eligible for registration.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in architectural design and project management.

• Demonstrated success in managing remote teams is a significant asset.

• Proficiency in REVIT, BIM principles and workflows, Microsoft 365, and Bluebeam is preferred.

• Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
