Architectural Technologist

Architecture49 (A49), a growing national architectural firm, is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join their Ottawa office. Key Responsibilities:

• Produce technical design and contract documents in collaboration with project teams.

• Ensure designs and deliverables meet technical guidelines, code requirements, and regulations.

• Provide technical design solutions for facility construction, including interior and exterior assemblies.

• Coordinate with internal production teams and project sub-consultants.

• Provide technical mentoring and leadership to less experienced technical staff.

• Assist with contract administration, including site visits and collaboration with construction contractors.

Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in architectural and building technology from an accredited technical college.

• Minimum 6+ years of experience as an Architectural Technologist with an architectural consulting firm.

• Extensive experience in commercial, institutional, healthcare, or industrial project types.

• Strong knowledge of architectural building systems and the ability to prepare comprehensive drawing packages suitable for tender.

• REVIT software experience is necessary.

• Preference for candidates with knowledge of BIM principles, Microsoft 365, construction site experience, and Bluebeam.
