Product & Bom Configuration Engineer

We are looking to hire a Product & BOM Configuration Engineer for a great manufacturing client located in Mississauga. This role will support both product design and BOM/engineering system configuration and accuracy. Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, this position plays a key role in ensuring engineering intent is accurately translated into systems, rules, and product configurations. This role reports to the Product Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities: - Support product design activities and engineering standards for assigned product lines.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, design rules, and option logic.
- Support product changes and enhancements, ensuring downstream impacts to configuration logic and BOMs are fully understood and addressed.
- Ensure engineering intent is clearly and consistently reflected in system rules and product definitions.
- Develop, maintain, and validate BOM structures and configuration logic for complex engineered products.
- Own configuration testing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards and business rules.
- Support CPQ platforms (e.g., Revalize CPQ or equivalent), ensuring products are configured and quoted correctly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CPQ rules, BOM logic, and configuration outputs.
- Act as a subject matter resource for product configuration behavior and system logic.
- Gather, document, and analyze engineering and business requirements, translating them into system and process solutions.
- Partner with the Product Engineering Manager and cross functional teams to improve consistency, scalability, and clarity of engineering data.
- Act as a liaison between engineering, sales, IT, and business teams to align on requirements and priorities.
- Analyze workflows related to configuration, quoting, and engineering data management; identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Create clear documentation, process maps, and reporting to support decision making.
- Support engineering and product master data within ERP and related systems (JD Edwards experience is an asset).
- Assist with the development and deployment of tools, methodologies, and system enhancements that improve data quality and engineering efficiency.
- Use data analysis to proactively identify errors, gaps, or inefficiencies in configuration and product setup.

Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of product design principles and product configuration concepts.
- Hands on experience with BOM management, configuration logic, and testing.
- Experience working with or supporting CPQ platforms (Revalize CPQ, Salesforce CPQ, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical skills; proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and/or SQL.
- Experience working with ERP systems and engineering master data.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business discussions.
- High attention to detail and a strong ownership mindset.
