Beer Canada, the national voice of Canadian brewers and consumers, is seeking a President to lead its advocacy, policy, and industry representation efforts. This Toronto-based executive role offers the unique opportunity to influence regulatory frameworks and shape the public and political discourse around one of Canada's most iconic industries.
With a long-standing reputation for effective policy advocacy, Beer Canada engages with all levels of government, media, and industry stakeholders to foster a positive operating environment for brewers. The President will serve as the strategic leader and primary spokesperson, guiding internal operations while influencing critical policy decisions affecting the brewing sector.
Your Impact: As President, you will:
Lead advocacy initiatives across federal, provincial, and municipal governments.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with elected officials, regulators, media, and industry partners.
Influence public policy in areas such as alcohol taxation, retail and distribution systems, environmental regulation, harm reduction, and international trade.
Oversee internal organizational strategy, governance, operations, and team leadership.
Manage a diverse national team, coordinating regional and functional leaders for unified representation.
What You Bring:
Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in public affairs, government relations, or association management.
Demonstrated success navigating complex political and regulatory environments.
Proven ability to serve as an effective public spokesperson and strategist.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French is strongly preferred.
Experience in regulated or consumer-facing sectors (e.g., alcohol, food, health) is a strong asset.
Collaborative and proactive leadership style paired with strong business acumen.
First 6-Month Milestones:
Build relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, and key stakeholders.
Evaluate and optimize the business plan and organizational structure.
Deliver quick wins on pressing industry concerns.
Develop a thorough understanding of member priorities and industry economics.
