Packaging Operator

Description:

Alvéole is a Certified B Corporation on a mission to green cities by introducing bees and biodiversity into urban spaces across North America and Europe. They collaborate with commercial real estate owners to create thriving ecosystems and engage tenants.

The role involves working on the honey extraction and packaging team during the 2025 beekeeping season in Montreal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Honey Extraction: Uncap and extract honey frames following Alvéole’s procedures, operating extraction, bottling, and labeling machinery.

• Cleaning and Organizing: Keep the extraction and production areas clean, organized, and safe, maintaining hygiene standards.

• Packaging: Box, palletize, and wrap honey products accurately and timely for shipping.

• Metrics and Reporting: Track and monitor inventory levels by data entry into internal systems.

• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively to meet daily production targets and respect the final shipment deadline (Nov 1).

• Quality Control: Monitor product consistency and quality, ensuring all honey meets company standards, while adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols.

• Other Duties: Perform additional warehouse or production tasks as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

• Comfortable with physical warehouse work, including heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs), operating mechanical equipment, and working in varying temperatures.

• Experience in food processing, product assembly, or warehouse operations preferred.

• Familiarity with agriculture, beekeeping, or honey extraction is an asset.

• Ability to operate mechanical and automated equipment.

• Strong team player.

Working Conditions:

• Physically demanding role including potential exposure to bee stings, heavy lifting, and hot indoor temperatures.

• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, no night shifts.
