NDT Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious CGSB certified NDT Technician to join our team in the Lloydminster region. The successful candidate will perform high-quality Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections primarily on pressure equipment, pipelines, storage tanks, and structural components in the heavy oil and energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspections (thickness, shear wave, etc.) on piping, vessels, and welds
- Conduct Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) inspections
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment
- Interpret, evaluate, and document test results according to applicable codes and standards
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records
- Work closely with clients and supervisors to meet project requirements
- Adhere to all company and client safety policies and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
- CGSB Certification required:
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT) – Level 1 or Level 2 (Level 2 preferred)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) – Level 2
- Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) – Level 2
- Valid Energy Safety Canada certifications:
- H2S Alive
- Confined Space Entry
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Fall Protection
- St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid (with CPR)
- Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Previous experience in the oil & gas or pipeline industry preferred
- Physically fit and comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying outdoor conditions
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
