Msc Position In Quantum Physics

Description:

The Quantum Photonics Group at the Université de Moncton, led by Dr. Lambert Giner, is offering an exciting MSc position (with the possibility of transition to a PhD) focused on "Characterizing Quantum States via Non-Invasive Measurements." The project is based at Canada’s largest Francophone university outside of Quebec and aims to develop innovative experimental techniques that allow quantum state characterization without perturbation.

The selected student will work on cutting-edge research in quantum optics, in a highly collaborative academic environment, while gaining mentorship, technical training, and financial support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in experimental and theoretical research related to non-invasive quantum state measurements

• Conduct optics-based laboratory experiments under supervision

• Engage in data analysis, simulations, and algorithm development using C#, Python, or MATLAB

• Collaborate with research group members and assist with academic publications and presentations

• Participate in teaching assistantship duties as part of the funding support

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics (preferred), or in Mathematics/Engineering with coursework in:

  • Quantum Mechanics

  • Optics

  • Electromagnetism

  • Experimental Physics

• Proficiency in French is mandatory. Applicants must indicate how they meet or intend to meet the French language requirement

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English

Desired Skills:

• Experience in free-space or integrated optics (internships or lab coursework)

• Programming knowledge in C#, Python, or MATLAB, shown through relevant academic or personal projects
