Material Handler

Description:

• Loading / unloading shipments and movement of products within our facility through the use of a counterbalance forklift, Raymond Reach, Combilift or electric pallet jack in a safe manner.
• Prepare shipping dock to transfer out product.
• Match product with shipping / receiving documents.
• Verify shipping / receiving products' order numbers and codes.
• Inspect products to ensure quality conditions with acceptable coding identification.
• Stage and load shipment skids onto trailers using the forklift.
• Process required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking shipped products.
• Report discrepancies to the immediate supervisor.
• Follow current safety standards and procedures.
   

Requirements
 

• Attention to detail.
• Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Must be able to drive Combi-lift or have at least 5 years narrow aisle and willing to learn.
• Valid counterbalance forklift/Raymond Reach certificate.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required.
• Working knowledge of safe lifting methods.
• Good organizational and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to perform active physical labour, lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance, walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.
