Maintenance Supervisor

Maple Leaf Foods Inc is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations and ensure safe, efficient, and effective maintenance practices in a fast-paced industrial environment. Reporting to the Maintenance Senior Supervisor, this role involves supervising and coaching maintenance trades, managing emergency and break-in work, and ensuring optimal operational effectiveness in alignment with corporate and site objectives.

The Maintenance Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing equipment rebuilds, prioritizing maintenance work, providing technical assistance to maintenance personnel, and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures. This position is scheduled for the evening shift, from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide maintenance trades to ensure efficient and safe execution of work.

• Oversee internal equipment rebuilds and review external rebuilds.

• Manage emergency and break-in maintenance work, adjusting schedules as needed.

• Provide input into maintenance job plans, scopes, and prioritization processes.

• Conduct pre-checks of tools, equipment, and materials before scheduled jobs.

• Review and analyze work orders to identify opportunities for performance improvement.

• Ensure compliance with housekeeping and safety practices at all times.

• Conduct annual reviews of trades staff based on skills evaluation matrix and create training plans to address gaps.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in an operational maintenance environment.

• Electrical/Mechanical/Operations background with interprovincial red seal or technical designation.

• Prior supervisory experience is required.

• Familiarity with CMMS/EAM systems (SAP considered an asset).

• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
