Lead Operator

Description:

Tourmaline Oil Corp, a leading Canadian crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company, is seeking a Lead Operator with deep operational knowledge of production facilities, including battery operations, compressor stations, well performance, and storage facilities. This role demands independent work, strong leadership, and supervisory skills to guide junior operators and coordinate operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mentor and train team members daily with a focus on operational, technical, financial, safety, and environmental excellence.

• Provide hands-on competency training and supervision to junior and intermediate operators.

• Monitor production performance, identify downtime causes, and implement operational improvements.

• Supervise contract and maintenance crews, and act as relief for the Production Foreman.

• Lead and coordinate facility modifications, turnarounds, and well optimization projects.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain optimal field performance.

• Be flexible to work varying shifts and stay in camp if required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; post-secondary technical diploma considered an asset.

• At least 10 years of oil and gas operational experience.

• Proven leadership, supervisory, and people management skills.

• Strong safety record with consistent performance.

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and training practices.

• Proficient computer skills and experience with field data management systems.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.

• Ability to operate in seasonal weather conditions.

Additional Information:

• Position based out of Grande Prairie office.

• Candidate must be local or willing to relocate and flexible to work various shifts.

• Physical work required and must be able to work in camp environment if needed.
