Description:

Mercor, a San Francisco–based platform that connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs, is seeking a Junior Research Associate to support its growing network of artificial intelligence and data-driven projects.

This position is ideal for individuals who excel at analytical thinking, attention to detail, and structured data validation. As part of the role, you will review and refine AI-generated content, ensuring that responses are clear, accurate, consistent, and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate AI-generated outputs for factual accuracy, completeness, clarity, and adherence to project guidelines.

  • Identify ambiguities, inconsistencies, or subjective phrasing in responses and suggest necessary improvements.

  • Ensure consistency in formatting, tone, and terminology across all reviewed materials.

  • Provide structured and constructive feedback to improve data accuracy and enhance AI model reliability.

  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI research and data quality teams, maintaining a high level of precision and accountability.

  • Contribute to the continuous training and optimization of AI systems by ensuring reliable and consistent dataset quality.

  • Meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality results independently while adhering to project timelines.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to detect inconsistencies or errors across different types of information.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to verify and cross-reference data from multiple sources.

  • Excellent written communication skills with a clear, objective, and structured writing style.

  • Ability to work independently and remotely, demonstrating reliability and time management.

  • Comfortable working under structured guidelines and maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.

  • Familiarity with AI technologies, data annotation, or research validation (preferred but not required).


Engagement Details:

  • Type: Independent Contractor

  • Compensation: $35/hour

  • Commitment: 20–40 hours per week

  • Duration: Approximately 4 days (with potential for future projects)

  • Location: Remote (open to candidates in the U.S., UK, or Canada)

  • Payment Method: Weekly payments via Stripe Connect
